Gu Jun-pyo is the leader of F4 and heir to ShinHwa Group, one of the most powerful business groups in South Korea. As leader of the most popular and powerful clique in ShinHwa High, he torments Jan-di after she stands up to his bullying ways, but ends up falling madly in love with her. His family is one of the most rich and elite in the country.
Geum Jan-di is the headstrong daughter of a dry cleaner. While on a delivery run to Shinhwa High School, she saves a bullied student from committing suicide. She is offered a scholarship to attend the prestigious school, and ends up getting on the dark side of Gu Jun-pyo.
Yoon Ji-hoo is a member of F4 and the grandson of a former president of Korea. His musical talent catches Jan-di's attention and she begins to develop feelings for him. He has a driving phobia after being involved in a car accident that killed his parents and left him the only survivor. He is initially in love with Min Seo-hyun, but eventually falls for Jan-di and acts as her protector.
So Yi-jung is F4's Casanova. He is a skilled potter. His family owns the country's biggest art museum. He eventually changes his playboy ways, when he realizes that he is in love with Chu Ga-eul. Although he doesn't develop romantic feelings for Jan-di, he does grow very fond of her and they become good friends.
Song Woo-bin is known as F4's Don Juan. His family runs the country's largest construction company, which Woo-bin later admits has strong connections to the mafia. Like Yi-jung, he eventually befriends Jan-di and becomes caring and protective towards her.
Story
It is a story about 4 chaebols. Jun Pyo and Ji Hoo falls in love with Jan Di, who ends up in the same school trying to save a person committing suicide because of F4, group of these chaebols. She speaks when F4 tries to bother any students and that is when Gu Jun Pyo ties to target Jan Di. During this he develops feelings for Jan Di. Jun Pyo plans for a surprise trip with Jan Di and F4. In the trip, Ji Hoo kisses Jan Di and seeing that Jun Pyo enters into a fight with him. After few races between Jun Pyo and Ji Hoo arranged by Jun Pyo elder sister, Jun Pyo realizes that Ji Hoo does all this to make him realize his feelings for Jan Di. While Jun Pyo and Jan Di getting closer, Jun Pyo mother, a cruel and selfish business woman, who is also president of Shinhwa group, finds out about their relation and tries to hit on Jan Di family to split them up. Jun Pyo and Jan Di keeps fighting against his mom. Suddenly Jun Pyo dad pass away and he has to take over the business. Jan Di goes to Macau to find Jun Pyo. In Macau, to Jan Di’s surprise Jun Pyo act as if he doesn’t know her. When she was in trouble, suddenly the other 3 members of F4 appear in Macau and help her. Jun Pyo says to Jan Di that he is realizing the fact know and so avoiding her. Though he doesn’t really mean that he does so as he is feared that his mom might hurt Jan Di. Disappointed Jan Di return back to Seoul. Meantime, Jun Pyo marriage is set with Jae Kyung, the heir of JK group.
At first, both of them are against the marriage but gradually Jae Kyung starts liking Jun Pyo and she wants to marry him. Jun Pyo returns to school to complete his graduation and to his surprise Jae Kyung also joins the school with him. In the school, she comes to know about Jun Pyo and Jan Di but she wants to get married to Jun Pyo at any cost. Jun Pyo tries to build relationship with Jan Di again while his mother warns him to accept his engagement with Jae Kyung. Series of incidents take place during this period. Jun Pyo mom sets up the marriage date immediately. Jae Kyung wants Jan Di to be as bridesmaid. On the day before their marriage, Jun Pyo pleads Jae Kyung to break the marriage and he loves someone. She says no and walks off. On the wedding day, Jun-pyo pleads for Jan-di to tell him not to get married. She doesn’t respond. The ministers begin the ceremony and when he ask for any objectors to speak, Jae Kyung raises her hand followed by Ji Hoo, Yi Jung, Woo Bin and Ga Eul to object the marriage. She breaks the marriage and helps Jun Pyo and Jan Di fled away from that place. Jun Pyo and Jan Di spends that night together in the place arranged by Jae Kyung.
As punishment to broken marriage, Madam Kang locks up Jun Pyo in his room. Madam Kang makes things difficult for other F4 members and Jan Di parents. Jan Di breaks up with Jun Pyo and moves to countryside where her parents are living. Ji Hoo and Jun Pyo search for Jan Di. Ji Hoo finds Jan Di and meet her. Jun Pyo watch her secretly. In the village, Jun Pyo is hit by a car, who is having grudge over Shinhwa group. After the accident, Jun Pyo forgets about Jan Di. After few incidents Jun Pyo remembers Jan Di again. They spend good time of Jan Di graduation day. Jan Di wants to go to medical school.
After 4 years, Jun Pyo gives interview as the successful business man. Ji Hoo and Jan Di goes to medical camp. Suddenly they hear a disturbance and to their surprise it is Jun Pyo. He reminds her that she’d agreed to marry him when he came back. Jan-di returns, “Look here, Dummy Gu Jun-pyo. If you want to get technical, I said when you came back in four years, I’d think about it.” Jun-pyo drops down to one knee, pulls out a ring box, and makes it official: “Geum Jan-di. Marry me.”
